Lubbock real estate broker Brady Collier was awarded the Texas REALTORS® 2006 William C. Jennings Lone Star Award for Commercial Transaction of the Year. The winner was announced at the state association’s Winter Meeting awards ceremony in Austin.

This year’s recipient discovered that a high-profile property in town was in foreclosure, and he became interested in brokering a deal to a new owner. Collier’s extensive market analysis revealed that the value would fluctuate dramatically depending on its intended use. Rather than limiting the pool of potential buyers, Collier brought it to market without one.

He orchestrated a national marketing campaign and eventually received offers ranging from $500,000 to $6 million. In the end, the property sold for almost double what his clients had anticipated.

“This commercial venture involved an incredible amount of ingenuity,” said Benny McMahan, CEO for the Texas REALTORS®. “Brady Collier had the vision to bring this transaction to a national level, demonstrating what effective marketing strategies and hard work can do to serve the interests of one’s client.”

The William C. Jennings Lone Star Award for the Commercial Transaction of the Year is awarded annually by the Texas REALTORS® Commercial Investment Division to recognize outstanding efforts in commercial brokerage. The honor recognizes the year’s best commercial transaction based on the merits of the transaction, creativity, and the application of commercial principles and practices.
