About Me

I’ve purchased three residential homes over the past three decades. My first was a new custom home in a new subdivision. Allow me to guide you in your new home purchase. Most home builders budget for real estate commissions so our assistance costs you absolutely nothing. You have everything to gain and nothing to lose.

My second purchase was an existing home in an established neighborhood. We moved to get our boys into a better school district. When we sold, we used a discount broker. It was a new service back then and we thought that we could save some money. Buying and selling your home is stressful enough without the added concerns about the extremely low level of service you will receive from a discount broker. You really do get what you pay for.

Today we live in a fixer upper. We used the listing agent who had the property for sale. (Do not attempt this unless you are a real estate professional and know what you are getting into.) It is a common misconception to think that you save money by calling the selling agent. You do not. All commissions were established with the seller in the listing agreement before the property was ever put on the market. The only thing this does is stop the broker from being able to legally give you (or the seller) any advice during the transaction.
