What TAR is doing at the Texas Capitol
01/10/2017 | Author: Governmental Affairs Staff
Real estate is always a hot topic when the Texas Legislature meets. This will be especially true this year during the 85th legislative session.
Lawmakers have already filed several bills about the property tax process, homeowners association, home-equity loans, and other real estate-related issues.
Advocating for you
The Texas Association of REALTORS® is the strongest advocate for private-property rights and the Texas real estate industry at the state Capitol.
TAR volunteer leaders and staff will follow bills throughout the process and attend committee hearings, often providing expert testimony about a bill’s merits.
Where TAR stands
TAR takes a position on several issues that have an impact on Texas real estate.

Stay in the loop
TAR will read every bill and share updates from the real estate perspective in the weekly Legislative Liaison newsletter.
