The MetroTex Association of REALTORS® was awarded the Texas Association of REALTORS® 2006 Education Program of the Year. The winner was announced today at the state association's Winter Meeting awards ceremony in Austin.

From the Large Association Category, MetroTex's innovative program-"Heard it through the Hotline"-met members' needs and increased the quality of professionalism in the real estate industry. Using the FAQs from the Texas Association of REALTORS®' Legal Hotline, senior instructor Peggy Albers worked closely with the local association to develop a four-hour mandatory-continuing-education course that explored the most frequently asked question received by attorneys at the state level. "Heard it through the Hotline" effectively demonstrates how the legal hotline works and succeeded in raising awareness of an important resource for REALTORS® and their clients.

"While all of this year's submissions were noteworthy, the MetroTex Association of REALTORS® went above and beyond," said Avis Wukasch, chairman for the Texas Association of REALTORS®. "The 'Heard it through the Hotline' program enhanced the benefits of membership and protected the interests of clients by exposing Texas REALTORS® to a valuable resource."

The award for Education Program of the Year is decided by a special statewide task force selected by the Education Management Team and chaired by the Faculty Criteria and Development chairman. The honor recognizes the year's best real estate education program in Texas based on the merits of the program, how well it met its professional and financial objectives, and its broader impact on the growth, image and performance of the association's members.
