Members from across Texas gathered in Austin to learn about the latest industry trends, conduct association business, and connect with their fellow REALTORS®. The event featured engaging speakers, actionable takeaways, recognition for winners of association awards, and business activities. Here are some highlights.

The Board of Directors elected 2027 officers Ben Rodriguez of Silsbee as Secretary/Treasurer and Deborah Spangler of Montgomery as Chairman-Elect. Tony Lloyd of Lubbock was affirmed as Texas REALTORS® Chairman.

Members Kyle Paris, Jennifer Parker, and Kayla Click of MetroTex were elected as Region 12 (MetroTex) vice presidents with terms to start immediately.

The following Texas REALTORS® were elected as regional vice presidents for two-year terms beginning December 1: Region 2: Jackie Randle (Heartland); Region 3: Eyad Salloum (Greater Fort Worth), Daphne Zollinger (Greater Denton/Wise County); Region 5: Melinda Randall (Longview); Region 6: Cameron Willmann (Permian Basin); Region 8: Kandi Luensmann (Fort Hood), Sarah Norman (Bryan-College Station); Region 9: Shawna Bradley (Pineywoods); Region 11: Adrian Arriaga (Brownsville-South Padre Island); Region 12 (MetroTex): Johnny Mowad, Cindy Baas, Scott Carnes, Amy Hanson, Ginger Gill, Franceanna Campagna, Bette Washington; Region 13 (San Antonio): Deborah Vallone-Homeier, José “Pepe” Aranda; Region 14 (Houston): Jo Ann Stevens, Quenton Rockwell, Samantha Plomer, Thomas Mouton, Marilyn Arendt, Susan Annoura, Tina Wilcher, Shae Cottar, Mike Wong, Karishma Asrani; Region 15 (Austin): Kent Redding, Teresa Scott-Tibbs.

Texas REALTORS® celebrated members and local associations for their commitment and exceptional work in 2025. In addition to those pictured here, members honored for grassroots advocacy were Katie DeHaven, Bryan-College Station; Dixon Holman, Arlington; Bruno Zavaleta, Brownsville-South Padre Island; Leigh York, Greater Fort Worth; Brandy Wuensch, Austin. Recipients of the Texas Accredited Commercial Specialist Scholarship were Ebby Adesegun, Sarah Atterberry, Jesse Cano, Sangeeta Katuwal, Alisha Melvin, Hazel Munos, Andrea Robinson, Ashley Rimmer-Ratzel, Tajana Surlan, and Debbie Tran.

Local associations recognized for exemplary educational programs:

• San Antonio Board of REALTORS® in the innovation category
• Houston Association of REALTORS® in the marketing category
• Lubbock Association of REALTORS® in the series or short program category.

Diversity and Fair Housing Awards for promoting diversity and inclusivity in the real estate profession went to the MetroTex Association of REALTORS® for innovation and the San Antonio Board of REALTORS® for impact.

Meet the 2025 Texas REALTOR® of the Year

Sarah Norman of the Bryan-College Station Regional Association of REALTORS® was honored as the 2025 Texas REALTOR® of the Year for her decades-long dedication to the real estate profession and service to her community.

“I’ve been blessed to have been given a clearly defined purpose to serve, and that clarity gives me my drive,” said Norman. “There will always be challenges, but perseverance and a strong work ethic make all the difference.”

Growing up in the country, Norman watched her parents work hard to provide the best life for her and her brother. “They worked public jobs, long hours, and still managed the farm.” Norman knew she wanted to pursue something she understood that would allow her to control her own destiny. “I began selling farm & ranch properties and loved it,” she said. Not long after, she expanded into residential sales.

Norman has served many roles at the local, state, and national levels, from the Texas REALTORS® Board of Directors to NAR’s Professional Standards and Public Policy Committees, chairman of her local association, and as a Federal Political Coordinator. “I love every facet of the business: serving, selling, educating, mentoring, building, developing, and sharing 48 years of experience with my real estate family.”

Norman’s impact also extends to her local community. She serves on a redevelopment committee, is an ambassador for the Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce, has supported Kemp-Carver Elementary School for the past eight years by filling backpacks and donating blankets for children in need, and has taught Sunday school for the past 25 years.

At the heart of Norman’s efforts is a steadfast “people first” philosophy. “If you focus on serving others, building relationships, and doing the right thing, even when no one is watching, success will follow.”
