New Instructors
Thank you for your interest in teaching real estate and/or appraiser CE classes through Texas REALTORS®. Before you can begin teaching, you must complete our short online instructor orientation. You will be taken to another login page where you will create an account to complete the orientation. Upon completion, there will be a link to access and complete the instructor application.
Instructor criteria:
In the application, you will be asked to remit information regarding the past three times you’ve taught. Instructor Candidates must also be able to supply the following:
- A college degree in the subject area to be taught and three (3) years of experience in teaching or training, or
- Five years’ active experience as a license holder (or as a Broker to teach Broker Responsibility) and three (3) years of experience in teaching or training, or
- The equivalent after consideration of your personal experience, research, authorship, or other significant endeavors in real estate.
There is a $75 annual instructor fee that will be invoiced after your application is accepted, and on a yearly basis.
Teaching Additional CE Programs
There are additional criteria required to teach the following additional programs. To apply, email your request and evidence of training completion (ex. official Letter of Completion) to education@texasrealtors.com.
TREC Legal Update I & II

- Complete the TREC Legal Update I & II Instructor Training.
Broker Responsibility
- Meet the Instructor Criteria
- Complete the TREC Broker Responsibility Instructor Training
Residential Contracts Courses, as of January 1, 2026
- Complete the TREC Legal Update I & II Instructor Training. If the TREC Instructor Training is unavailable, complete the current Legal I & II curriculum.
Complete the Texas REALTORS® Contracts Instructor Training
- If Texas REALTORS® Contracts Instructor Training is not available, the instructor must complete a 3-hour residential contracts course taught by a Texas REALTORS® Senior Instructor.
Be an Attorney OR be a Broker OR be a Compliance Officer OR Meet the following:
- Complete 630 additional hours of CE/QE OR have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university
AND
- Have closed at least 12 purchase or sale transactions in the past five (5) years OR have reviewed contracts as an office manager for at least 4 years

Teaching Texas Certifications and Special Programs
- Texas REALTORS® has created a variety of state-specific content for members to grow in their area of interest. Below are the credentials and instructor criteria required in order for existing Texas REALTORS® Certified Instructors to apply for each topic. Please complete our Texas Certifications application and remit a $75 application fee if interested in teaching any of these classes.
