As a Texas REALTOR®, you get dozens of member benefits … but there’s one benefit you may hope you never use. Even so, it’s good to know it’s there should you need it.

The Texas Association of REALTORS® maintains the TAR Legal Fund to help REALTORS® and local associations prevail in lawsuits that could carry long-term effects for all REALTORS®, the rights of private-property owners, or the real estate industry.

If you are currently involved in a lawsuit and think your case qualifies for support from the Legal Fund, fill out an application for assistance and submit it to your local association for review. If TAR receives your application, along with a recommendation from your local association, by August 30, 2016, then your request will be sent to TAR’s Legal Review Committee for review at its September 7 meeting. Applications submitted after August 30 will be considered at a later date.
