Financial assistance for homebuyers

For some individuals, the upfront costs associated with purchasing a home can seem like an impassable roadblock, but there are a number of financial assistance programs out there to help you achieve the American Dream of homeownership.

In Texas, programs such as Texas Cares and Texas First Time Homebuyer provide downpayment assistance to first-time and low-income buyers. Many of today’s programs even offer downpayment grants or loans of up to 6% to individuals with poor credit. The Texas Association of REALTORS® supports a number of these affordable housing initiatives. Talk to your REALTOR® about what type of assistance you qualify for.
